Acer has had quite a year with a launch of an array of offerings for all price segments and needs from highly portable rigs intended for road warriors to massively powered gaming notebooks that help you dominate the competition. In a grand Christmas lunch, Acer closed the year with quite a bang as they gave a sneak preview of next-year’s upcoming offerings in the form of the svelte Swift 5 a well as the launch of a slew of notebooks that include the Swift 3 and Aspire 5.
The Acer Swift 3 comes in your choice of either an Intel Core i5-8265U or Intel Core i7-8565U processor, up to 512GB NVMe SSD, up to 8GB DDR4 RAM, either an Intel UHD Graphics 650 internal graphics or an NVIDIA MX150 with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM, a 14-inch 1080p display and a 48Wh Li-Ion battery to offer up to 12 hours of battery life. The highest end variant clocks in at RM4,399 with all specifications maxed out while the variant with an i5, a 256GB NVMe SSD and an MX150 GPU retails for RM3,599. Both variants are available for sale nationwide in Malaysia.
The Acer Aspire 5 comes with a 15.6-inch 1080P display, either an Intel Core i5-8265U or Intel Core i7-8565U processor, up to a 1TB hard disk with 128GB SSD, 4GB DDR4 RAM, an NVIDIA MX150 GPU with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM and a 48Wh Li-ion battery pack that offers up to 7 hours of battery life. The highest end variant ships in obsidian black with all specifications maxed out for RM3,599 while the cheaper variant is available in your choice of Pure Silver, Lava Red and Obsidian Black as well as an i5 processor, a 1TB hard disk as well as an MX150 GPU for RM2,699. Both variants are available at all Acer authorised retailers nationwide.
Also unveiled was the Acer Swift 5 that aims to be one of the lightest 15-inch laptops ever made at 990g. The Swift 5 has a 15.6-inch touchscreen, up to a 512GB NVMe SSD and up to 10 hours of battery life. No word on its intended price or specific launch date but we’ll keep you posted.
