Acer rolls out latest array of Veriton, TravelMate and Chromebook devices

Acer’s array of Veriton series desktop mini towers come with business chic looks and a small form factor with all the mod-cons that will endear it to corporate enterprises as they all have a host of security and management tools as well as quite a degree of customisability depending on the needs of the business.

The desktops are able to offer 8th gen Intel Core I7-series processors paired with Intel Optane tech, the option to incorporate SSD drives, up to 64GB DDR4 RAM, options fo integrate NVIDIA or AMD graphic cards and more. Of note is that the G suffix on the series indicative of the fact that the series is Energy Star compliant. Prices start from RM1,999 and up and are available nationwide from early-August onwards.

 

Acer TravelMate X3410 and P2 series notebooks


Intended as business laptops designed for corporate use, the TravelMate X3410 series comes in a host of configurations culminating in up to an 8th generation Intel Core i7-series processors running Windows 10 Professional, up to 32GB DDR4 RAM and up to a 512GB SSD for fast performance. The 14-inch display has 1080p resolution and is able to deploy flat in case needs must.

The more modestly specced and affordable Acer TravelMate P2 series has a 14-inch HD display, 4GB DDR4 RAM at the stock configuration upgradable to 32GB RAM with the option to pack either a 256GB SSD or 1TB hard disk.

In terms of pricing, the Acer TravelMate P2 series clocks in at RM2,499 and up and are available nationwide at all authorised resellers and Acer online stores. The TravelMate X series has prices starting from RM3,999 for the Intel Core i5 model and RM4,899 for the Intel Core i7 variant with both TravelMate X variants available in the market starting from September 2018 onwards.

Acer’s Chromebook range exemplify ease of use, robustness on account of highly durable casings, long endurance and fast boot-ups on account of the simplicity and efficiency of Chrome OS. At launch, they announced the Chromebook Spin 11, the Chromebook 11, Chromebook Tab 10 and the desktop-based and compact Chromebox CX13.

The Chromebook 11 comes with an 11.6-inch HD display, an Intel Celeron Quad Core N3450 processor, 4GB DDR4 RAM, 32GB eMMC storage. Of particular note is that it’s inordinately durable with the ability to survive drops from up to 122 cm to the deck and is ideal as an entry level device for students with a rather friendly price tag too at RM1,099.

Acer’s nifty looking Chromebook Spin 11 has a 360-degree hinge that lets you flip the 11.6-inch HD touchscreen into any of four modes as needed. Of note is that it has 10 hours of battery life and is spill-proof and can shrug off the odd glass of water or two. Powering the Spin 11 is an N3450 quad-core processor, up to 8GB DDR4 RAM, up to 64GB on-board EMMC storage and 10 hours of battery life. The Spin 11 comes in one variant with 4GB RAM and 32GB of storage for RM1,399 sans stylus while a higher end 8GB RAM and 64GB of storage retails for RM1,699 and will come bundled with a stylus. Both variants of the Spin 11 are now available nationwide.

The Chromebook Tab 10 is the world’s first slate powered by Chrome OS and is intended for educational use. It sports a 9.7-inch QXGA ( 2,048 x 1,536 pixels resolution) IPS display, 4GB RAM, 32GB of storage, an OP1 dual-core Cortex A72 processor and comes with a Wacom EMR stylus in a stylus well as standard. The Chromebook Tab 10 only comes in cobalt blue and retails for RM1,299 natinowide in Malaysia.

The Chromebox CX13 is a small, squarish affair that needs a monitor, keyboard and mouse to use but prepresents an effective way to deploy Chrome OS in a classroom or office. It comes with an 8th generation Intel Core i3-series processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, a 64GB SSD, a trio USB 3.1 Type C ports and the ability to support up to two monitors at a time via the aforementioned Type C port and a HDMI port. The Chromebox CX13 retails for RM1,999 and is available nationwide.
